Development panel limits linked issues to 10 with no documented cap or error message #210192
🏷️ Discussion TypeBug 💬 Feature/Topic AreaIssues BodyDescriptionThe "Development" section in a pull request's sidebar silently stops accepting linked issues after 10. There is no error message, no indicator that a limit exists, and no documentation of the cap. The UI appears to accept the action but does not save the link. Is there a reason for this 10 issue limitation? Steps to Reproduce
Expected BehaviorEither the issue links successfully, or GitHub displays an explicit message stating that the Development panel has a maximum limit of linked issues. Actual BehaviorThe 11th link silently fails. No error is shown. The issue does not appear in the panel. The user has no indication that a limit was reached. Additional Context
ImpactTeams that use issues to track bugs against a PR cannot reliably use the Development panel for PRs with more than 10 linked issues. Silent failure makes this difficult to catch and easy to misdiagnose as a UI glitch. Guidelines |
