Add support for other github enterprise URIs #4782

Open

Description

@virtualdvid

Currently vscode introduced this new setting:

"github-enterprise.uris": [
        "https://github.example.org/",
        "https://example.ghe.com/"
    ]

This allows me to have the couple accounts from my company and access multiple services indifferent of the account, it would be cool if the desktop app also has that.

All my repos are in the .org account but github copilot is provided through ghe.com. This causes that I can't use my repos from remote.

    Hello @virtualdvid,

    Do I understand correctly that github.example.org hosts your GitHub Enterprise Server (GHES) instance?

    If so, you can enable the GitHub Enterprise Server experiment and sign in with your GHES account. This lets you use your Copilot subscription from example.ghe.com while working with repositories hosted on your GHES instance at github.example.org.

    Hi @aymenfurter,

    github.example.org is where all the repos are located
    example.ghe.com is where I get the access to github copilot

    I can't use Pull request for example because example.ghe.com doesn't have any repo:

    I can't create a project from a repo either:

    and so on some features are available and other ones aren't.

    Hi I just got another related issue:

    It couldn't work on my folder-repo in a simple task because it doesn't have access to my github.example.org account.
