If you've been waiting 38 days without a meaningful response to your suspended account appeal, I would recommend taking these steps:
Unfortunately, there is no guaranteed timeframe for resolving a suspension appeal, and repeatedly contacting support won't necessarily speed up the process. Keep records of your correspondence and wait for an official response. Hopefully, GitHub Support will review your case and provide a clear explanation of the decision. |

Hello GitHub Community,
I never thought I would have to write a discussion like this, but after 38 days of waiting, I genuinely don't know what else to do.
My primary GitHub account, @the-bipu, was suspended on September 3, 2026. Since then, I have followed the available support process, submitted my appeal, replied to the original email thread, and followed up without creating unnecessary duplicate tickets. My original support ticket is #4725423.
I have explained my situation multiple times, provided the relevant information, and respectfully requested a review. I even opened a separate support request from my secondary account, clearly referencing the original ticket, because I couldn't access my primary account to track the situation. Support replied by directing me back to the primary account's email address, which I had already used.
Despite all these efforts, I still have no meaningful update explaining why my account was suspended, whether my appeal is being reviewed, or when I can expect a decision. I haven't received a clear answer through either route.
What am I supposed to do after 38 days of waiting without even knowing what happened?
I've been using GitHub consistently since August 2023. My account contains approximately 193 repositories, including personal projects, professional work, and applications developed for my institution. Some of these applications are already deployed and used by thousands of people.
For me, GitHub isn't just a place to upload code. It is my portfolio, my development history, and a major part of my professional career. My work on GitHub has helped me secure internships and employment. Now I cannot access my repositories, fix issues, or deploy critical updates to applications I am responsible for maintaining. This is causing real professional and financial consequences.
I've read GitHub's Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policies, and Community Guidelines. I've also read discussions from other users who have experienced suspensions. I understand that enforcement systems are necessary to protect the platform, and I am not claiming to know exactly what triggered my suspension. However, I am concerned that an automated system may have misinterpreted some activity or commits, and I want the opportunity for a human reviewer to examine my case.
If automated systems are involved in account enforcement, shouldn't there be a reasonable way to get a human review when a user believes a decision is incorrect? A long history of legitimate development and consistent contributions should at least be considered during that review.
I have spent three years building my presence on GitHub, contributing consistently, and developing projects that other people rely on. It is incredibly frustrating to lose access to all of that without a clear explanation or even a meaningful status update.
I am not asking the community to reinstate my account or bypass GitHub's policies. I understand that account-specific decisions must be handled by GitHub Support.
I'm asking the community:
I am still waiting for a response to ticket #4725423. At this point, I need either a fair review and an explanation of the suspension, or clear guidance on how I can recover my repositories and preserve my work if reinstatement is not possible.
I genuinely want to resolve this matter and continue my work. I just wish I could get a clear answer after all this time.
Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this and share their experience.
